| Beschrijving voorzijde | The arms of the Sovereign Princes of Monaco are displayed prominently in the central field, rendered in heraldic detail with the characteristic lozengy fusilly in argent and gules. The legend MONACO is inscribed along the upper periphery, while the twelve five-pointed stars of the European Union form a continuous ring encircling the armorial device. The date of issue appears within the design. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents the common European Union design for the 5 euro cent denomination, as engraved by Luc Luycx. A globe rendered in relief occupies the left portion of the field, oriented to display the continental landmasses of Europe, Africa, and Asia in geographic relation to one another. The face value 5 EURO CENT is inscribed to the right of the globe, with the engraver's initials LL appearing at lower right. Fine horizontal lines in the background field indicate the surface of the globe. |
