| Beschrijving keerzijde | The large numeral '5' dominates the left and centre of the field, rendered in the standard Euro cent typeface. To the right, a stylised balance scale is depicted superimposed over six diagonal parallel lines radiating across the field, evoking the common reverse design used on the 5 euro cent denomination. Twelve five-pointed stars form a partial border around the lower and right periphery of the coin. The legend 'PROBE · TRIAL · ESSAI · PRUEBA' arcs along the upper rim, identifying this piece as a multilingual trial or essai strike. |

Lithuania's 2004 EU accession trial pieces were produced ahead of the country's formal entry into the eurozone monetary system — which ultimately didn't happen until 2015. These probe strikes were part of the evaluation process run by candidate states in the early 2000s, testing planchet specifications and die compatibility before official adoption. Lithuania cycled through multiple trial compositions during this period, and copper-only strikes represent one branch of that testing, distinct from the bimetallic and copper-clad steel variants also produced.
