| Obverse description | The obverse features the Madara Horseman (Мадарски конник), the celebrated early medieval rock relief carved into a cliff face in northeastern Bulgaria and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, rendered as the national symbol of Bulgaria for the euro coinage series. The mounted figure is depicted in profile facing right, with a hunting scene rendered in the style of the original 8th-century relief. The Cyrillic legend БЪЛГАРИЯ (BULGARIA) appears along the upper periphery, with the mint year 2026 positioned in the field. A ring of twelve European Union stars frames the design along the outer border, and the denomination СТОТИНКИ (CENTS) is inscribed within the legend. |

| Reverse description | The reverse, common to all euro area 5 cent coins, displays a stylized globe rendered in relief showing Europe centrally positioned in relation to Africa to the south and Asia to the east, emphasizing the continental identity of the European Union. The bold numeral 5 appears to the left of the globe in large relief, with the inscription EURO CENT arching along the lower portion of the design. The designer's initials LL, for Luc Luycx, are incuse below the globe. Fine parallel lines radiate across the field in the background, and the twelve stars of the European Union encircle the entire composition along the outer rim. |
