Issued under Latvia's ongoing commemorative natural heritage program, this piece celebrates the historic Cat's Mill in Kuldīga — one of the few surviving wooden mill structures in the Baltic region. Kuldīga itself sits on the Venta River, home to the widest waterfall in Europe, and the town's mill culture was central to its medieval commercial identity. Latvia's commemorative silver fives from this period were produced at the Lithuanian Mint in Vilnius, not domestically.
