Obverse description Brown-violet note with an oval vignette at center bearing a portrait of Manuel A. Tocornal against a landscape background, framed by fine guilloche work. The denomination "5000" appears in large numerals at both upper corners, with the bank title across the top and "CINCO MIL PESOS" in a bold panel along the lower margin. Two manuscript signatures appear in the lower third, flanking the central vignette with their respective titles.

Reverse description Purple note with a large central vignette reproducing a painting of the Battle of Rancagua, with the bank seal at left. A rectangular overprint bearing the new denomination "5 ESCUDOS" is applied over the original design, reflecting the 1960 monetary reform conversion.
