Obverse description Central depiction of the skyline of Luxembourg City, featuring the prominent spire of a cathedral or church rising above the medieval fortification walls, all rendered in a stylized architectural manner. The coat of arms of Luxembourg, a quartered shield bearing the national lion, appears in the lower center of the field. The Luxembourgish name of the country, 'LETZEBUERG', is inscribed horizontally across the middle of the design in bold raised letters. The denomination '5 ECU' flanks the shield on either side, with the date '19 95' split to the right. A semicircular arc of twelve stars, referencing the European Community, frames the upper portion of the design. The Brussels mint mark appears in the lower left field.
