Obverse description Central device features the Czechoslovak state coat of arms — a shield bearing the rampant double-tailed Bohemian lion with a crown, the inescutcheon on the lion's chest displaying the Slovak double cross on a tripartite base. To the right of the shield, a stylized linden branch with blossoms occupies the field. The circular legend REPUBLIKA ČESKOSLOVENSKÁ runs along the upper periphery, separated by dot stops, within a beaded border. The denomination numeral 5 and the date appear in the lower field, flanking the shield.
