| 背面描述 | Elaborate baroque coat of arms displayed on an oval shield, featuring the quartered arms of the Bishopric of Olomouc, surmounted by a bishop's mitre and processional cross at top center, flanked by a cardinal's hat to the left and a prince's crown to the right. The shield is adorned with ornate baroque mantling and scrollwork. The date 1716 appears within the surrounding Latin legend, which records the bishop's secular and imperial dignities. |

Wolfgang von Schrattenbach served as Prince-Bishop of Olomouc from 1711 until his death in 1738, wielding both ecclesiastical and secular authority in one of the most powerful sees in the Habsburg lands. Multi-ducat gold pieces from this episcopate were not struck for circulation — they functioned as presentation pieces, distributed as diplomatic gifts or rewards to individuals the Prince-Bishop wished to honor or obligate. Surviving examples are correspondingly rare; most entered private collections immediately upon receipt and never passed through trade.
Olomouc retained its mint privilege well into the eighteenth century, an increasingly anachronistic arrangement as Vienna steadily consolidated imperial coinage authority.
