Obverse description Draped bust of Empress Maria Theresia facing right, her hair elaborately dressed in flowing curls. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque manner, with lace-trimmed décolletage visible at the truncation. The peripheral Latin legend reads MAR·THERESIA D·G·REG·HUNG·BOH, divided around the bust.

Reverse description Elaborate crowned baroque coat of arms supported by two rampant griffins as supporters, the shield quartered with the arms of Austria, Hungary, Bohemia, and Burgundy, with the whole ensemble surrounded by decorative foliate scrollwork. The imperial crown surmounts the shield above. The date appears in the left field, and the circumscribed Latin legend, abbreviating the Empress's titles as Archduchess of Austria, Duchess of Burgundy, and Countess of Tyrol, runs around the periphery.
