Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Leopold I facing right, with long flowing hair and prominent Habsburg physiognomy, set within an inner beaded circle. The emperor is shown in elaborate armored dress with ornate detailing at the shoulder. The surrounding Latin legend reads • LEOPOLDVS • D • G • R • IMPERA • S • A •, separated by rosette stops, running along the outer border of the coin.

Reverse description Double-headed imperial eagle displayed, each head surmounted by a separate crown beneath a large central imperial crown, with wings spread and talons clutching a sword to the left and a scepter to the right. An ornate escutcheon bearing the Habsburg arms is superimposed on the eagle's breast. The mint master's initials MV appear at the base of the design below the eagle's tail, and the date 1691 is incorporated into the surrounding Latin legend: GER : HVN : BOHE MIÆ • REX • 1691 MV.
