| Obverse description | Facing busts of the two co-ruling dukes, Johann Christian (left) and Georg Rudolf (right), both in armor with elaborate gorgets and mantles, confronted within a beaded inner circle. Johann Christian is depicted as the elder figure with flowing hair and beard, while Georg Rudolf appears as a younger, smaller figure to his right. The surrounding legend reads D·G·IOHAN·CHRIST·ET·GEORG·RVD·FRA· in raised Latin characters between the beaded border and the outer rim, identifying the two brothers by the Grace of God. The portraits are rendered in the naturalistic Mannerist style typical of early seventeenth-century Silesian goldsmith work, with fine detailing on the armored dress. |
