Below the central figure, two heraldic shields are displayed side by side, bearing the coats of arms of the Dietrichstein family and the Bishopric of Olomouc respectively. The circumferential Latin devotional legend SVB VMBRA ALARVM TVARVM ('Under the shadow of Thy wings') surrounds the inner circle, commencing at 1 o'clock. The composition reflects the Counter-Reformation Marian devotion characteristic of the Dietrichstein episcopate. |
