| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Ferdinand III facing right, wearing a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon at the nape, and an ornate lace collar over armored shoulders. The emperor's features are rendered in high relief with fine portrait detail characteristic of the Prague Mint's skilled engravers. The circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy along the periphery of the coin. The field is smooth and the portrait occupies the majority of the flan. |

| Reverse description | Crowned imperial double-headed eagle displayed in the center, with wings spread and each head crowned individually beneath an imperial crown surmounting the whole. A crowned coat of arms bearing the quartered Habsburg hereditary lands is superimposed on the eagle's breast. The date appears in the upper field, divided by the crown, and the mint city abbreviation is positioned in the lower field. The surrounding Latin legend, continued from the obverse, records the emperor's titles as Archduke of Austria, Duke of Burgundy, Margrave of Moravia, and Count of Tyrol. |
