Obverse description Full-length crowned effigy of Ferdinand II facing front, clad in full plate armor, holding an orb surmounted by a cross in his right hand and a sword over his left shoulder. To the lower left, the crowned shield of Bohemia bearing a rampant lion; to the lower right, the crowned arms of Hungary with the characteristic barry and cross design. A mint mark appears at the base of the design. The Latin legend encircles the entire composition within a beaded inner border and a rope-pattern outer border.
