| Descrizione del rovescio | Centrally placed crowned four-fold quartered royal arms of Sweden, displaying the three crowns of Sweden, the lion of the Folkung dynasty, and additional dynastic quarterings, all surmounted by an ornate royal crown. The shield is elaborately rendered in high relief with fine heraldic detail typical of the period. The date is incorporated within the circular Latin legend surrounding the arms, divided across the field. A beaded border frames the entire reverse design. |

Erfurt occupied an awkward position during the Thirty Years' War — technically an imperial city but under effective Mainz ecclesiastical suzerainty, while simultaneously garrisoned by Swedish forces from 1632 onward. These multiple-ducat pieces were struck during the final years of that occupation, when Queen Christina of Sweden nominally controlled the city's political fate. The Peace of Westphalia in 1648 returned Erfurt to Mainz, ending the Swedish chapter entirely.
Fr#927 is among the rarer Erfurt gold issues from this period, with surviving examples appearing infrequently at auction.
