Obverse description Draped bust of Bishop Charles III Joseph of Lorraine facing right, wearing a voluminous curled allonge wig and elaborately embroidered episcopal vestments with a clerical collar visible at the neckline. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine engraving detail on the robes and lace. The circumferential legend reads D·G·CAROLUS EPISCOPUS OLOMUCENSIS, disposed around the portrait within a beaded border.

Reverse description An ornate eight-pointed Maltese-style cross dominates the field, surmounted by a large imperial crown above an oval coat of arms displaying the quartered heraldic arms of Lorraine and Bar. Crowned double-headed imperial eagles are positioned at the left and right points of the cross, flanking the central shield. The circumferential legend DUX LOTHAR ET BAR SRI PS R C B COM 1709 encircles the composition within a beaded border, citing the bishop's secular titles as Duke of Lorraine and Bar and his dignities within the Holy Roman Empire.
