| Reverse description | Elaborately crowned coat-of-arms of the Bishop superimposed upon a Maltese cross, supported on either side by two outward-facing crowned eagles with wings displayed. The heraldic composition is flanked by a sword to the left and a pastoral crook to the right, symbols of temporal and spiritual authority respectively; two crossed palm branches appear below the shield. The surrounding legend in Latin records the Bishop's secular titles as Duke of Lorraine and Bar, Prince of the Holy Roman Empire, and further dignities abbreviated in the inscription. |
