| Reverse description | The arms of the Cretan State displayed centrally, comprising the Greek royal coat of arms: a shield bearing a white Greek cross on blue, surmounted by a royal crown, and supported on either side by two nude male figures rendered in classical Hellenistic style. The mantle behind the supporters is draped with ermine-lined robes gathered beneath the crown and festooned with decorative scrollwork at the base. The legend ΚΡΗΤΙΚΗ ΠΟΛΙΤΕΙΑ arcs around the upper field, divided left and right of the crown, while the denomination 5 ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ is inscribed in the lower exergue. A beaded inner rim frames the entire composition. |
