| Obverse description | Unadorned bust of Charles Emmanuel III facing left, rendered with finely detailed flowing wig curling to the shoulder, the truncation bare. The date appears in the lower exergue beneath the portrait. The encircling Latin legend reads CAR • EM • D • G • REX • SAR • CYP • ET • IER •, separated from the effigy by a beaded inner border. The portrait is executed in high relief in the Baroque tradition characteristic of the Turin Mint's mid-eighteenth-century coinage. |
