Obverse description Armored bust of Agostino Spinola facing right, depicted in contemporary early 17th-century plate armor with detailed pauldron and gorget visible at the truncation. The hair is rendered with fine engraving, and the effigy occupies the central field with considerable relief. The encircling Latin legend reads AVGVSTINVS SPINVLA with the date 1604, disposed around the periphery.

Reverse description The Spinola family coat of arms displayed on a shield surmounted by a comital crown, set within an ornate baroque cartouche with foliate and scrollwork framing.
