A kayaker in a traditional canoe is rendered above the shield. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by eight five-pointed stars. The series inscription RAINBOW'S END appears within the lower portion of the shield, and the denomination 5$ is inscribed at the bottom of the field.

背面描述	The reverse presents a finely detailed relief panorama of the Zugspitze, Germany's highest peak, its rugged rocky face occupying the upper and central field beneath the series legend MOUNTAINS & FLORA arcing along the upper border. In the lower right foreground, two vivid blue gentian flowers (Gentiana acaulis) are depicted in full color enamel with green foliage, contrasting strikingly against the silver mountain relief. An inscription in a rectangular cartouche at the lower left reads ZUGSPITZE / 2962 m, and the year date 2009 appears on a ribbon banner along the lower margin.
