Aanvullende informatie

Liberia's late-1990s and early-2000s commemorative program was essentially a licensing operation — designs were contracted to foreign minting firms and sold primarily to collector markets in Europe and North America, with little meaningful circulation in Liberia itself. Taylor, the twelfth U.S. president, died in office in July 1850 after just sixteen months, most likely from acute gastroenteritis contracted at a Fourth of July ceremony, though arsenic poisoning theories persisted long enough that his remains were exhumed in 1991. The KM and X dual-reference reflects the contested status of this issue between mainstream catalog and exonumia classifications.
