| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field features a finely detailed depiction of two rabbits: a larger rabbit seated in the foreground facing left, and a smaller rabbit perched behind it facing right, with decorative foliage sprigs at the lower left and right. A square cartouche bearing the Chinese character for 'rabbit' (兔) appears to the right of the rabbits. The border legend lists all Year of the Rabbit occurrences in the 12-year zodiac cycle, separated by arrowhead ornaments: '1951 · 1963 · 1975 · 1987 · 1999 · 2011', running around the full circumference. The inscription 'YEAR OF RABBIT' is positioned along the lower rim. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Somaliland declared independence from Somalia in 1991 but has never received formal international recognition from any sovereign state. Its coinage, issued throughout the 1990s, was produced largely for the collector market rather than domestic circulation — the regional economy ran primarily on Somali shillings and later on its own paper currency. This piece, timed to the 1999 lunar calendar, was part of a broader wave of Chinese zodiac issues commissioned from private mints and sold through numismatic distributors with no meaningful connection to the issuing territory.
