| Obverse description | Seated allegorical figure of Liberty faces three-quarters left at center, draped in classical robes and wearing a radiate crown, holding a sheaf of wheat in her left hand and resting her right hand upon a globe bearing the word LIBERTY. A sunburst motif appears to the lower left. The arc legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA runs along the upper periphery, the date 1997 appears in a recessed tablet in the lower field, and the motto LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE is inscribed along the lower rim. The entire design is bordered by a beaded inner circle. |
