Reverse description A stylised horse rendered in a traditional East Asian artistic style gallops dynamically to the right across the central field, its mane and tail flowing with motion. A decorative floral rosette adorns the horse's flank, and the background to the left is filled with a repeating pattern of the Chinese character '年' (year). The field is divided into quadrants by a cross-shaped frame element. The denomination '$5' appears in the upper right, while the cyclical Chinese characters '甲午' (denoting the Year of the Horse in the sexagenary cycle) are inscribed at the lower centre, flanked by the inscription '1/4 TROY OZ 999.9 FINE GOLD' along the lower legend.
