The Sultanate of Occussi-Ambeno is a fantasy issuer — a fictional micro-state with no legal territorial existence, operated commercially to produce coins with nominal face values but no genuine monetary authority behind them. These pieces were sold directly to collectors, never circulated, and no sovereign entity ever stood behind them. Prince Maurits of Orange-Nassau married Marilene van den Broek in May 2001, which places a 1998 commemorative issue three years ahead of the actual event — a dating inconsistency not unusual for this type of promotional numismatic product.
