| 正面铭文 | REPUBLIC OF PALAU · RAINBOW'S END · 5$ |
| 背面描述 | The reverse presents a finely detailed high-relief panoramic view of the Watzmann massif in the Bavarian Alps, with snow-capped rocky peaks rendered in three-dimensional sculptural relief filling the central and upper field. In the lower left, a cartouche bears the inscriptions WATZMANN and 2713 m indicating the mountain's elevation. A scroll in the lower field bears the date 2009. In the lower right quadrant, a vibrant polychrome enamel insert depicts alpine flowers, predominantly purple blooms, providing a striking colour contrast against the silver relief. The series title MOUNTAINS & FLORA arcs along the upper border in bold serif lettering. |

Palau's ongoing natural wonders series has pulled from locations well outside the Pacific — the Watzmann is a massif in the Bavarian Alps, its east face the deadliest rock wall in the Eastern Alps with over 100 recorded fatalities. The coin exists because Palau's licensing arrangements with European distributors, primarily German, allowed themes with direct collector appeal in the target market rather than any connection to Palauan territory or history.
