The composition depicts the richly gilded, ornament-covered robes of the embracing figures at the upper right, set against a luminous gold background executed with applied gold finishing. The lower foreground features a vibrant naturalistic field of wildflowers and colorful blossoms in greens, reds, and yellows, faithfully reproducing Klimt's characteristic Jugendstil decorative style.
