| Obverse description | The obverse bears the national coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia in the central field, depicting a shield device with a sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, and a rising sun, surmounted by a dove in flight and flanked by a plow and a spade at the base. A scrolled banner across the shield bears the national motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE. The outer legend reads REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA around the upper periphery, with a second REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA inscription on a ribbon within the lower portion of the arms device.
