Additional information

The Pennsylvania Railroad's K4 Pacific-type locomotive, introduced in 1914, became the backbone of PRR passenger service for over three decades — the railroad operated more than 400 of them at peak. The Marshall Islands issued a long series of commemorative copper-nickel five-dollar pieces throughout the 1990s targeting collector markets, with no genuine circulation intended or achieved. Only two K4s survive today: one at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg, the other at Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton.
