| Obverse description | Green-tinted note issued at Jackson, Mississippi, dated November 1, 1862, with a large central Roman numeral «V» vignette forming the denomination underprint in green ink. The «FAITH OF THE STATE PLEDGED» obligation text appears in blue ink, flanked by ornamental typeset legends confirming fundability in eight per cent bonds payable in ten years.
