| Obverse description | The coat of arms of the Republic of Palau occupies the central field, depicting a crowned Neptune figure holding a trident, seated beside a mermaid, with an open treasure chest to the left and stylized waves below, all within an ornate shield. A traditional outrigger canoe with a paddler appears above the shield. Six five-pointed stars flank the shield on either side. The inscription REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper rim in Latin legend, and the motto RAINBOW'S END appears at the base of the shield. The denomination 5$ is inscribed at the bottom of the field. |
