| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of the Republic of Palau occupies the central field, depicting a shield bearing the figure of a crowned Neptune seated and holding a trident, accompanied by a mermaid, with a treasure chest to the left and a crescent moon and star above. The shield is flanked by decorative floral scrollwork and surmounted by a traditional Palauan outrigger canoe. Eight stars are arranged in a semicircle around the shield. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper rim, the series title RAINBOW'S END appears within the lower portion of the shield, and the denomination 5$ is inscribed at the base. |
