Opis awersu	The obverse is printed in black on white cotton paper and carries a central vignette of a classical chariot drawn by two lions, surrounded by bilingual text in English and French. A portrait vignette of a gentleman appears at the left margin within an oval frame, flanked by large numeral counters reading FIVE at upper left and lower left. The bank title BANQUE DU PEUPLE arches across the top, with LOWER CANADA and CONO at upper right, and the dual denomination CINQ PIASTRES / FIVE DOLLARS appears in bold letterpress across the center, above the promise-to-pay text in both languages.

Opis rewersu	The reverse is printed in blue and displays a large central vignette of a standing male figure in a long coat, enclosed within a decorative rectangular cartouche with ornamental headpiece. The field is divided into a grid of alternating plain and lathe-work guilloche panels, with four large circular engine-turned rosettes positioned at each corner. The overall layout is characteristic of early North American security printing, with the blue tint providing a rudimentary anti-counterfeiting measure.
