| 背面描述 | Central field features a vibrant full-color applied image depicting a large parrotfish in the foreground, rendered in blue and green tones, surrounded by a richly detailed coral reef scene with red and orange corals, additional tropical fish, and a blue underwater background. The color inset occupies nearly the entire inner field. The legend 'MARINE LIFE PROTECTION' arcs along the upper periphery in raised relief against a darkened field, within a beaded border. |

Palau's marine-themed silver program, launched in the 1990s, was among the first Pacific island series to successfully exploit the collector market for colorized wildlife coinage. These issues are legal tender under Palauan law but were never intended for circulation — the republic's de facto currency is the US dollar. KM#114 was produced by the Austrian Mint under contract, a common arrangement for Pacific microstates with no domestic minting infrastructure.
