Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn — Aušros Vartai in Lithuanian — refers to the 16th-century icon housed in the only surviving gate of Vilnius's old city walls, venerated by both Catholics and Orthodox Christians across the region. Palau's Pacific Island mint program has long contracted themes from European religious and cultural heritage with no particular geographic logic, a commercial strategy that targets collector markets in Poland, Lithuania, and the broader Catholic diaspora rather than any domestic circulation need.
