Reverse description A stylized Olympic torch with bold, sweeping flames rising upward dominates the center of the field, its dynamic design engraved by Marcel Jovine with the designer's initials visible at lower right. The five interlocking Olympic rings, incorporating the letters U, S, and A within three of the rings, are positioned above the flame. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM curves along the lower portion of the torch, with the denomination FIVE DOLLARS and the issuer legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA arranged in three lines across the lower field. The West Point mint mark W appears to the right of the torch base.
