Obverse description The full Jamaican coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield bearing a golden cross and five pineapples, supported by two Taino figures — a woman to the left holding a basket of fruit and a man to the right holding a spear — both in traditional dress. A crocodile passant surmounts the helm as a crest above the shield. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto in the legend OUT OF MANY ONE PEOPLE. The country name JAMAICA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination FIVE DOLLARS and the date appear along the lower periphery, with the Franklin Mint mark visible in the lower field.
