| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Liberia occupies the central field, featuring a sailing ship, a palm tree, a rising sun, a dove, and a plough, all enclosed within a shield supported by scrolled mantling. The date 1999 is divided by the shield, appearing to either side in the field. The circular legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper periphery, while the motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE appears on a ribbon across the upper portion of the arms.
