| Obverse description | Central field displays the coat of arms of the Republic of Palau, depicting Neptune seated and holding a trident, accompanied by a mermaid at his side, with a treasure chest and marine flora in the background, all enclosed within a ornate shield. Above the shield, a figure in a traditional outrigger canoe is shown in the upper field. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper rim, flanked by eight five-pointed stars. The series inscription RAINBOW'S END appears within the lower portion of the shield, with the denomination 5$ inscribed in the lower field beneath the arms. |

| Additional information |
Palau has issued commemorative silver dollars under licensing arrangements since the 1990s, contracting production to foreign mints — primarily in Germany and Austria — and selling directly to the collector market rather than through any domestic banking infrastructure. The Mont Blanc issue belongs to a natural wonders series that generated consistent export revenue for Palau with essentially zero domestic circulation.
Mont Blanc's precise elevation has been revised several times by French and Italian survey teams, most recently settling at 4,807.81 meters following a 2017 GPS measurement.
