Beschrijving voorzijde The Palau national coat of arms is displayed centrally within a shield, depicting a traditional outrigger canoe above the sea, with a figure of a man standing beside a woman beneath a radiant star, all rendered in high relief. The motto scroll reading RAINBOW'S END appears at the base of the shield. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper rim, flanked by decorative stars on either side. The denomination 5$ is inscribed in the lower field beneath the shield.

Aanvullende informatie

Palau has issued devotional and architectural silver pieces since the late 1990s, largely targeting the European collector market rather than any domestic audience — the islands have no meaningful connection to the subjects depicted. The Milan Cathedral series belongs to a broader run of church-themed issues produced under license arrangements with the Vatican and various dioceses.

The Duomo di Milano took nearly six centuries to complete, with the final details finished only under Napoleon's orders in 1805, who needed the building ready for his coronation as King of Italy.
