| Obverse description | Printed in deep rose-red on a multicolour guilloche underprint, the obverse centres on an intaglio oval portrait vignette of Dr. Sun Yat-sen in military dress. Large Chinese characters for the denomination 伍圓 flank the portrait on both sides, with ornate scroll-work and rosette corner medallions framing the design. Two serial numbers appear in blue at the upper left and upper right, with Chinese text columns bearing manuscript signatures of bank officials, and a bold overprint reading LOCAL CURRENCY across the lower centre. |
