Henry V's reign produced one of the most administratively complex coinages in medieval English history — the "heavy coinage" reform of 1412 had already been reversed before he took the throne in 1413, leaving his minters working through a transitional period with fluctuating bullion supplies tied directly to the demands of his French campaigns. Agincourt was fought largely on borrowed money, and the English crown's finances never fully recovered before his death in 1422.

Liberia has issued commemorative pieces under this broad monarchs-of-England series since the 1990s, with KM#1078 among dozens of similar silver-plated issues.
