| 正面描述 | The obverse displays the national coat of arms of the Republic of Palau at centre, depicting a shield bearing the figure of a sea god holding a trident, accompanied by a mermaid, with a treasure chest and maritime elements below, flanked by floral sprays, and surmounted by a traditional outrigger canoe. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper periphery, with five six-pointed stars arranged on each side of the field. The denomination 5$ appears in the lower field, and the series inscription RAINBOW'S END is inscribed within the lower portion of the shield. |

Palau's wildlife coin program, running through the mid-2000s and into the 2010s, was largely produced by the BH Mayer Mint in Germany under licensing arrangements — a common structure for Pacific island nations whose own minting infrastructure is nonexistent. The series sold almost entirely to the collector market; none of these pieces ever circulated in Palau, where the U.S. dollar functions as the de facto currency.
