| Additional information |
The Northern Mariana Islands, a U.S. commonwealth since 1978, has no independent monetary authority — these gold issues were produced under a licensing arrangement that allowed the CNMI government to authorize commemorative coinage struck to .999 fineness, a purity standard above the U.S. Mint's own gold coin specifications. The "Finland" designation places this within a world capitals or nations series marketed almost entirely to collectors rather than circulation.
At 1.24 g, the piece contains roughly a twentieth of a troy ounce of fine gold.
