The arc legend HISTORY OF WINTER SPORTS runs along the upper field. Four Winter Olympic host cities with their respective years are inscribed around the periphery: ST. MORITZ 1928 at the left, LAKE PLACID 1932 at the right, CHAMONIX 1924 at the lower left, and GARMISCH-PARTENK. 1936 at the lower right. The date 2006 appears in the lower exergue, and the entire reverse is struck in anodised blue niobium. |
