Obverse description An intaglio portrait of Abraham Lincoln facing slightly right occupies the central vignette, set against a finely engraved guilloche underprint. The heading NATIONAL CURRENCY and the name of the issuing Federal Reserve Bank with its city and state appear above the portrait, while the brown Treasury seal and numerals flank the right side, accompanied by the Treasurer's and Governor's signatures; the Register's and Cashier's signatures of the issuing bank are positioned at lower left. The note's overall layout follows the small-size Series 1929 format standardized across all Federal Reserve Bank Notes.
