| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Liberia centrally positioned in the field, featuring a three-masted sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, and a rising sun on the shoreline, with a plow and dove above the shield. A ribbon scroll bearing the national motto legend arcs across the upper portion of the arms. The outer legend reads REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA along the upper rim, with a secondary inscription REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA on a banner at the base of the arms, and the denomination 5 DOLLARS in the lower exergue. The design is executed in a proof-like finish with a beaded border. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Liberia has issued commemorative coinage depicting foreign military commanders with notable frequency, a practice driven almost entirely by the export collectibles market rather than any domestic monetary function. Rommel's inclusion in such a series reflects the persistent commercial appetite for Wehrmacht-era figures in Western collector markets, particularly in Germany and the United States.
None of these pieces entered circulation. The silver-plated copper fabric makes that plain enough.
