| Obverse description | Central device depicts Neptune enthroned, shown as a muscular bearded figure wearing a crown, holding an upright trident in his right hand, flanked on either side by reclining mermaids amid coral and sea vegetation. The denomination '5$' appears in the upper left field. The curved legend 'REPUBLIC OF PALAU 2005' arcs along the upper periphery within a beaded border. The polished proof fields provide a dark contrasting background to the frosted relief devices. |

| Additional information |
Palau has issued fish-themed silver dollars since 1992 under a long-running Marine Life Protection series, making this one of dozens of similar pieces struck for the collector market rather than circulation. The program is produced under license and has no meaningful monetary use in Palau itself, a nation whose everyday currency is the U.S. dollar.
KM#113 is one of the more common entries in the series by secondary market volume.
