The dominant adult monkey, rendered with selective gold-coloured gilding, is seated and grasping a slender branch with outstretched arms, its gaze directed to the right. A smaller juvenile monkey, left in brilliant proof silver finish, sits in the lower left, gnawing on a stem amidst scattered leaves. The date '2016' is inscribed within a rectangular cartouche at the left of the field. |
